Nick Mason

Nick is widely respected in the Top of the South and across New Zealand as a talented and dedicated advocate.
Nick has successfully represented clients in hundreds of mediations, numerous Employment Relations Authority Investigation Meetings, and in the Employment Court. He is known for his pragmatic and straightforward advice, which makes him a valued advisor to employers of all sizes. He has acted for clients across a number of sectors including fisheries, forestry, transportation, retail, hospitality, horticulture, aviation and agriculture. Nick also represents employees and prides himself on getting practical resolutions that suit an employee’s circumstances.
Nick is very experienced and skilled in the full range of employment law matters, from employment agreements to disciplinary matters to restructuring. He also conducts thorough and robust independent investigations into employment matters.
In terms of immigration matters, and while assisting individual migrants with their needs, Nick particularly specialises in assisting employers with highly skilled employees, high volumes of applications, and ensuring an employer is complying with Immigration New Zealand’s expectations. Nick is trusted by employers to provide pragmatic advice and get positive outcomes. Nick is widely experienced in the immigration space, and is currently a Director of the New Zealand Association for Migration and Investment (NZAMI), the principal association representing Immigration Advisers and Immigration Lawyers.

Mike is a well-respected, experienced New Zealand qualified immigration lawyer. Friendly and approachable, Mike is focussed on achieving the best possible outcomes for his clients. A former Director of the New Zealand Association of Immigration and Investment (NZAMI), Mike established and led the Immigration Team at his former law firm. He was succeeded in that role by his Mason McMellon business partner Nick Mason.
